Transvaginal Mesh
In another case in which the “cure” may be worse than the problem it is supposed to fix, transvaginal mesh has caused a great many women painful and troubling symptoms. Surgical mesh has been used in procedures intended to repair urinary and gynecological problems, such as pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI). During placement of transvaginal mesh, the doctor, depending on the ailment, implants the mesh to strengthen the vaginal wall or to support the urethra or the neck of the bladder.
Unfortunately, far too many women have suffered one or more of the following complications once the mesh has been implanted:
- Nerve damage causing pain or numbness in the vagina and/or pelvic region.
- Vaginal scarring
- Vaginal shrinkage
- Pain during intercourse.
- Recurrence of POP or SUI
In cases involving this type of product liability, Tautfest Bond is fully prepared to file a lawsuit on your behalf to help you win the damages you are entitled to.
Hip Replacement
With the aging of our population, hip replacements have become increasingly common. The surgical procedure involves replacing the damaged (typically arthritic) hip joint with a prosthetic implant. For a great many patients, hip replacement, once they have fully recovered, is rejuvenating, relieving their intense pain and giving them improved mobility. For others, however, the hip prosthesis is defective, causing complications. Statistically, the metal on metal prosthetics cause the most trouble, and many of them have been recalled by their manufacturing companies.
If you have had a bad experience with a hip replacement, you may suffer:
- Stiffness of the joint
- Persistent limp
- Sudden inability to bear weight on the affected side
- Hip instability or migration
- Bleeding or nerve injury
- Ongoing inflammation
It is awful to contemplate going through a major surgical procedure like hip replacement only to find that you have to go through it all over again because of design flaws or missing components in the prosthesis itself.
